Infection

I recently did a masters project on HPV and it dawned on me that so many people  have no idea how rampant this virus is in our culture. HPV is the most commonly diagnosed STI in this country and it is responsible for almost 100% of cervical cancers. This is now preventable with a vaccine. Girls ages 9-26 should be getting the vaccine BEFORE sexual activity to prevent genital warts and cervical cancer. Prevalence of HPV infection is highest in people ages 17-33 years. Life time risk of infection is as high as 70%. There is no cure and many people have this infection and have NO symptoms but can pass it to others. It is spread by sexual contact and condoms do not always prevent transmission. I wanted to share this video...
